CHLAMYDIA
Chlamydia is a common STD caused by the bacteria Chlamydia trachomatis.
Signs of chlamydia in women include: pain having sex, abnormal discharge, and bleeding between periods. Signs of chlamydia in men include: swelling and pain around the testicles, burning or itching around the opening of the penis, and pain urinating.
Treatment for chlamydia requires antibiotics such as azithromycin or doxycycline.
Prevention for chlamydia includes abstinence, and condom use. Having vaginal, anal, and oral sex can all spread chlamydia.
Each year there are 4 million new cases of chlamydia.
