Tuberculosis
Tuberculosis or TB is an infectious disease caused by the bacteria Mycobacterium tuberculosis, and can affect most tissues in the body, especially the lungs.
Common symptoms of tuberculosis include: coughing, coughing up blood, chest pain, night sweats and/or extreme weight loss.
Treatment for TB consists of taking medications like Isoniazid, Rimfampin, Ethambutol, and Pyrazinamide.
Common ways to prevent tuberculosis include: Bacille Calmette-Guerin, the TB vaccine, covering your mouth, ventilating a room, and staying home. TB can be caught when an infected person coughs, speaks, sneezes, or spits.
